Job Description:

PRIMARY DUTY: This position is responsible for public radio fundraising, membership development, maintaining outer office, training of student office assistants and recording all station financial transactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Fundraising: Develop goals, policies, procedures and responsible for prospect research, cultivation, solicitation and acquisition of contributors from individuals, businesses and organizations.
2. Data Management: Manage systems for recording information on all current and past fundraising activities.
3. Station Events: Be responsible for special, major, annual development and member cultivation locally and regionally. Be responsible for our presence at the Bearcat Zone and other station events.
4. Marketing: Coordinate design of development materials, e-newsletters, special mailings to members, listeners and corporate businesses, sponsors and organizations.
5. Underwriting: Assist in monthly billing and accounting while maintaining records for all station financial transactions. Prepare daily program logs.
6. Hire, supervise, direct, delegate, train and evaluate student office positions who serve as office assistants for the radio complex. (We have no secretary)
7. Coordinate and Maintain Social Media Pages
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, marketing, communications, or other relevant field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience 

Experience: At least one year of experience in non-profit development/fundraising; demonstrated budgeting and fiscal management and experience

Skills: Well organized, be able to work as part of a team with the ability to manage multiple deadlines; an excellent command of the English language (both written and oral); good working knowledge of membership databases, word-processing and other current PC based applications; desktop publishing skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s degree in arts administration, marketing, communications, or other relevant field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Certification/License:

Experience: At least three years of experience in non-profit development/fundraising; at least three years of progressively responsible experience in and demonstrated commitment to non-profit development work, including experience in major giving, and/or capital campaigns, grant proposals,  and fundraising appeals

Skills: Familiarity with public radio and or public television, on-air background; a demonstrated ability in public speaking

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position works in air-conditioned offices of KXCV-KRNW radio complex, 2nd Floor Wells Hall on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville Missouri.  Some evenings and weekends are required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise student employees

EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Typical office equipment

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sedentary and physical work requiring the ability to lift and move 15 pounds on occasion
