Embracing a wide range of liberal and progressive views, we cover the arts and culture with rigor and insight, champion social progress, and, with our digital community, lead good-faith debates about the stuff that really matters. In 2023, Salon joined the

This shop steward will utilize their journalism expertise, design background and understanding of social media to craft successful, dynamic deliveries of Salon stories and multimedia projects across all channels: Salon’s website, social, search, newsletters and YouTube.
This role will be laser-focused on our audience, delivering the best of Salon’s journalism to subscribers and followers in a clear, accessible fashion. They will create visual elements for standout stories, write compelling headlines and packaging copy, produce elements of Salon’s newsletters and act as a master collaborator — building relationships across all aspects of Salon’s production teams.
They will see endless potential in Salon’s journalism and bring fresh perspectives on how to leverage Salon’s writing, video, and audio work to capture audiences in a daily environment and during longer-term planning sessions.
