Join The Daily Beast as a Senior Video Producer
The Daily Beast is a leading digital news organization known for its fearless journalism and sharp storytelling. We are expanding our video strategy and seeking a Senior Video Producer to build and execute a best-in-class video program. This is a high-impact role for a creative, ambitious professional ready to define and lead our video efforts from the ground up. The Daily Beast is based in New York and is an operating business of IAC (NASDAQ: IAC).
About the Role
This position is for a period of 3 months, with the opportunity to extend dependent on the success of the initiative. You will be responsible for shaping and executing The Daily Beast’s video strategy. You will work with the editorial team to source, edit, and distribute engaging video content across our website and social platforms while setting the foundation for a broader video department. Your work will drive audience engagement, increase social reach, and create new monetization opportunities.
This role requires a blend of editorial judgment, video production expertise, and digital strategy. You should be comfortable working independently, setting priorities, and balancing quick-turnaround tasks with long-term content planning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Hero Video Integration in Editorial Articles
- Identify and source high-quality video content (licensed, fair use, network video, etc.) to video-enable The Daily Beast’s written stories.
- Edit and optimize video clips for seamless integration into articles.
- Collaborate with editorial teams to identify video opportunities for top-performing stories.
- Ensure compliance with copyright and fair use standards.
2. Social Video & YouTube Strategy
- Cut daily videos from longer-form content (e.g., podcasts) into short-form, high-engagement social videos.
- Assist the social team in managing The Daily Beast’s YouTube channel, including publishing, metadata optimization, and audience growth strategies.
- Develop and execute a strategy for YouTube Memberships and other monetization opportunities.
- Create vertical videos for distribution across TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
3. Editorial-Driven Social Video Production
- Develop a strategy to create and produce daily video featuring The Daily Beast’s editorial team.
- Produce short teaser videos that market The Daily Beast’s content and drive traffic to our platforms.
- Grow The Daily Beast’s social follower base by leveraging compelling, shareable content.
- Experiment with monetization opportunities via Shorts and other emerging platforms.
4. Long-Form Video Content Development
- Lead the conception, production, and execution of longer-form video projects (e.g., weekly/daily shows, Beast of the Week Interview Series, episodic content).
- Coordinate with editorial and marketing teams to develop video franchises that align with The Daily Beast’s brand and voice.
- Oversee the production process from ideation to post-production and publishing.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in video production, editing, and digital video strategy, ideally within a news, media, or digital publishing environment.
- Strong proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
- Experience sourcing and cutting video content under fair use guidelines.
- Proven track record in social video production (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, etc.).
- Experience managing a YouTube channel, optimizing metadata, and driving audience growth.
- Ability to shoot and edit high-quality original video content.
- Strong editorial instincts and ability to align video content with The Daily Beast’s voice and audience.
- Knowledge of emerging digital video trends, platforms, and monetization opportunities.
- Highly organized and capable of balancing short-term execution with long-term planning.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with talent and on-camera personalities.
- Understanding of media rights, licensing, and content partnerships.
- Familiarity with analytics tools to track video performance and refine strategy.
- Ability to develop and pitch original video series ideas.

Pay Range Salary
The pay range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 annually.
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, performance and other factors. The range listed is just one component of the Daily Beast’s total compensation package. The Daily Beast provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
