The Special Projects Editor will work alongside Pitchfork leadership and CNE, audience development, and commerce and consumer revenue partners across Conde Nast to plan, develop, and roll out tentpole brand projects across a variety of platforms. They will work closely with the Editor of Pitchfork to strategize and execute around initiatives such as commerce and consumer revenue and act as an editorial liaison between departments as needed. Additionally, they will work alongside senior editorial staff to assist on packages, new initiatives, and major editorial projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Working with Pitchfork leadership on high-level brand development from an editorial and revenue perspective
Partnering and project management on major Pitchfork tentpoles as needed (ex. The Pitchfork Review podcast, video, some editorial packages, and editorial tied to festival/livestream events)
Regular meetings with CNE on audio and video development updates
Liaising with the Managing Editor and with audience development on commerce editing and consumer development research as needed
Secondary Responsibilities:
Working with senior editors as needed on editing and writing
Maintaining project budgets and goal pacing in tandem with Managing Editor
The ideal candidate is:
Familiar with Pitchfork’s editorial, social, and events and has a passion for music across genre
Interested in exploring and strategizing around new revenue opportunities
Organized and comfortable working on multiple long-term projects simultaneously
Experienced and skilled in editing across a wide range of writing styles
A strong communicator with great interpersonal skills
Well-versed in music media and passionate about reaching audiences in innovative ways
