Delaware Public Media is looking for a Morning Anchor to join our award-winning team providing statewide coverage of the First State as Delaware’s source for NPR News.
The Morning Anchor manages all aspects of news presentation during Morning Edition on Delaware Public Media, including producing, writing, editing and anchoring local news and breaks. The role is also responsible for news content generation for use both on-air and on the DPM website.
Responsibilities include:
Produce and anchor morning drive newscasts in NPR’s Morning Edition and other morning programs.
Research, write, produce and/or edit stories for other radio day parts and weekend, as well as web.
Serve as the on-air announcer between and within Delaware Public Media programs during the morning, including reading weather, underwriting and promotional announcements.
Conduct live and taped interviews
Operate studio audio board during newscasts and other programming
Perform other tasks as assigned by managers
Qualifications include:
Requires 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
Knowledge equivalent to BA degree major in journalism, mass communication or other related major
Minimum 2 years on-air anchor experience
Minimum 2 years experience in a professional newsroom
Background in long form public radio reporting preferred, but not required
