  • Write product requirement documents and engineering/design tickets related to new features.

  • Establish and track key performance indicators for select digital products.

  • Manage relationships with technical vendors and partners.

  • Collaborate with editorial, development, special projects, development and/or operations teams to identify opportunities for new products and features.

  • Focus on user experience for both our end readers and our colleagues  who use the tools that create our journalism.

  • Collaborate with Community Correspondents on user research efforts via surveys and user interviews.

  • Web design and usability: Manage and optimize our website to provide a positive user experience and increase reader engagement.

  • Work with the Chinese, Latino and Caribbean communities on their engagement products, ensuring excellent user experience and engagement.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.

  • Strong problem-solving  skills and adaptability to changing needs.

  • Passion for community-driven initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong technical background with understanding of web technologies and content management systems

  • Experience with analytics tools and data-driven decision making

  • Track record of successful product launches and optimization

  • Experience working with multilingual content delivery systems

  • Strong project management and communication skills

  • Knowledge of product frameworks preferred.

  • Experience with WordPress, Parse.ly, Google Analytics 4, Mailchimp.

A Note to Potential Candidates:

Studies have shown that women, trans, non-binary people, and BIPOC are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every one of the qualifications as described in a job description. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organization, and we are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job. That candidate may come from a background less traditional to our field of work, and we welcome the opportunity for new perspectives into our work. We would strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don’t believe you meet every one of the qualifications described.
