Job Description

The New Jersey Assembly Majority Office is seeking to hire several Communications Associates to assist with communications efforts in the local district offices of New Jersey’s Democratic Assembly members.   The positions, which run through December 2025, provide the opportunity to work directly with district office staff to promote the legislative achievements and community engagement of our Assembly members.
The Communications Associates will work in several district offices on a rotating basis.  Working closely with the Assembly Majority Office communications staff, the associates will draft newsletters, press releases, speeches, talking points, and other materials.  Associates will also engage in list building, to expand outreach efforts and help members communicate directly with constituents.  Associates will perform other assigned tasks, including helping with events, social media content creation, or video shoots.  Flexibility is required - each district office has different communications needs.
Associates must be able to work independently, learn quickly, complete projects on time, and adapt to changing priorities.  Associates must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in a legislative district office or with a campaign is a plus.

  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communications skills.  Proficiency in social media platforms.
  • Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
