NHPR is looking for a managing editor to oversee our flagship daily news magazines, Morning Edition and All Things Considered, and help guide the evolution of the magazines to serve our multiplatform audience strategy. We want someone with a proven track record of leading the production of ambitious, compelling broadcast journalism, including interviews, breaking news coverage, reported field pieces, and other segments. Our ideal candidate will have a strong vision for redefining local audio journalism to reach, inform, and entertain new audiences. This person will be a leader in our newsroom, working across teams to inspire effective collaboration. They will manage a four-person team of two hosts and two producers. This editor will also play a key role for our newsroom in spotting and developing talent as they lead our hiring processes.
This is a full-time, exempt, onsite role based in Concord, New Hampshire, reporting to our News Director. The budgeted salary range is $89,300 - $99,000 depending on qualifications. We also consider internal equity, among other factors, when deciding compensation.
